HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF ACADEMIA DE DAVAO COLLEGE

Academia de Davao was conceived on May of 2005. The school director, Guillermo A. Pono was doing his stint then as manager of Tagum Fiesta Appliance. He floated the idea of putting up a school to the Llanes Ang Corporation or LACOR, because at that time, the third floor of LACOR Bldg lay idle; and, it was also approximately at that same time, that one of the incorporates, Mr. Jaime Llanes, was thinking of venturing into something which the family could do as community service. He said God has been very good to him and his family and he would live to give back God;s blessings to the community.

Thus, on Maarch 23, 2006, a new technical-vocational school bearing the name Academia de Davao was born. The school is conveniently located in the heart of Tagum City, and is just walking distance from the City Hall. Barely three months of dogged determination to catch up with the opening of classes for school year 206-2007, but the school was able to make it. On June 6, 2006, the school opened its portal to 68 tech-voc students taking the first two-year course offerings accredited by TESDA: Hotel and Restaurant Management; Computer Programming; Computer Technician; and Computer Secretarial. For a one-semester old school, the school has gone a long way. October 18, 2006 marks another milestone. Academia de Davao has made another giant leap and is opening the First Finishing Course for Call Center Agents in Tagum City.

On December 2007, the school was recognized as  TESDA-Accredited Assessment Center for Computer Hardware servicing NC II and PC Operations NC II. There no stopping when the college took moves on applying for government permit to offer degree programs namely; Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Marketing and Human Resource Development Management.
